We had a lot of out-of-town guests for our wedding, and I knew I wanted to create some sort of welcome bag to hand out when they checked into their hotels! But because I am the crafter I am, what started as a quick “welcome note” quickly turned into a full blown, 4 page newspaper spread, printed on real colored newsprint. They were a hit — It’s been two years and my family still talks about these!
We kept a few copies (duh) and have one framed so we can always look at it, and I even made a “second edition” as a gift to my husband on our first anniversary.
There are so many ways you can use a custom newspaper for your wedding or event! It can be your invitation, your program or a keepsake your guests take home. You use them to share schedules, thank yous, how-we-met stories – even crossword puzzles and playlists.
I created my template on Canva, and ordered it through NewspaperClub! There’s no minimum order and delivery was fast! They offer three newspaper sizes: mini, tabloid or broadsheet. I ordered the digital tabloid for my event and it was the perfect size for what I wanted.
